Webinar on The Sedona Principles, Third Edition, Public Comment Version

Time: 1 pm Eastern/10 am Pacific, 90 minutes The Sedona Conference Webinar on The Sedona Principles,Third Edition, Public Comment Version Fifteen years ago, there was very little practical guidance for lawyers and judges facing eDiscovery issues. The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 1 stepped into that void and began a non-partisan, inclusive dialogue to develop principles and best practices for addressing electronic document production. In 2004, while still in draft form, the first edition of The Sedona Principles was cited in the landmark Zubulake series of decisions, and it immediately became the most trusted reference in the field. The 2006 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure drew on The Sedona Principles and its accompanying commentary, and in 2007 a Second Edition was published, incorporating the new rules and significant new case law. Ten years later, and after a lengthy process of drafting, dialogue, and review, a Third Edition of The Sedona Principles has been published for public comment. This edition is available free for individual download here, and the public comment period closes on June 30. The release of the third edition in March garnered significant coverage in the legal press and generated commentary from several experts in the field. Before the public comment period ends, the editors of this edition would like to provide an overview of the third edition and an opportunity for the public to pose questions and offer comments in a live webinar format. We invite you to join them on Wednesday, June 14, at 1 p.m. Eastern time, for the 90-minute webinar. Moderating the panel will be Working Group 1 Steering Committee member Eric Mandel of RICOH-USA, who has been part of the revision process since the beginning, joined by four other members of the editorial team: plaintiff class action attorney Joe Guglielmo of Scott + Scott, LLP; in-house discovery attorney Dean Kuckelman of Koch Industries; Martin T. Tully of Akerman LLP, and the Hon. Andrew J. Peck, U.S. Magistrate Judge from the Southern District of New York. The webinar is scheduled for 90 minutes, during which time you may text your questions to the panel, who will endeavor to address all that time allows.
