Bill Silverio
Bill manages a portion of Cisco System’s worldwide patent litigation, and works closely with its Intellectual Property Group to support Cisco’s strategic IP efforts. His responsibilities include formulating and driving IP litigation strategy, hiring and managing outside patent litigation counsel, assessing risk from IP litigation and disputes, and negotiating and drafting patent licenses and settlement agreements. Bill also advises the company on IP indemnity issues, advises senior management on significant litigation matters and strategy, and works with the business and with Cisco customers to manage and mitigate IP-related exposure. He joined Cisco in February 2009 from Fish & Richardson, where he led the Electrical Engineering practice in Fish’s Atlanta office. Prior to transitioning to litigation, Bill prosecuted software and hardware-related patent applications, and managed client IP portfolios. |
