Monika Kuschewsky
Monika is a German Rechtsanwältin and qualified as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Betrieblicher Datenschutzbeauftragter (company data protection officer) (GDDcert.). She is partner in Squire Patton Boggs’ global Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice and, having practiced in Brussels for more than fifteen years, has broad experience in a wide range of data protection matters, with a particular focus on international data transfers (Binding Corporate Rules, EU standard contractual clauses, Privacy Shield), outsourcing, HR and direct marketing. She has managed numerous data protection projects, including multijurisdictional audits and compliance programs, at a pan-European level and beyond. She assists companies in their preparation for compliance under the General Data Protection Regulation. She also advises on the data protection implications of the use of new technologies and practices, such as the Internet of Things, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), mobile apps, cloud computing, geolocation services, cookies and other tracking technologies. Monika represents clients before data protection authorities and provides training on data protection. Monika is the general editor of “Data Protection and Privacy” a multi-jurisdictional reference guide for companies, legal professionals and data protection officers covering 46 major jurisdictions worldwide, now published in its third edition. |
