Emily practices from the Denver office of Sherman & Howard, where she heads the firm’s Data Privacy group. Emily began practicing over 20 years ago, then with an emphasis in labor and employment litigation and counseling. Her work in that capacity involved assisting employers in the management and protection of PII and PHI, both as data pertaining to employees themselves and data to which employees may have access. Emily utilizes her experience with workplace data management issues to counsel clients in the navigation of the laws and regulations regarding privacy and data protection. Today, her practice involves consulting with clients to establish best practices for data protection, advising on business transaction matters that implicate data privacy and protection, and representing clients in data breach matters. Emily works extensively with health care provider entities and media companies.
