James is a Director of Post Grant Proceedings at Intellectual Ventures. He defends Intellectual Ventures’ patents at the patent office, where he focuses on banking, ecommerce, mechanical, and computer technology. Before joining Intellectual Ventures, James was involved in more than 20 patent litigations at a boutique law firm in the Midwest. He chaired his firms e-discovery committee and established its protocol for electronic discovery. James holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Senior Editor on the Law Review. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology and is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. He has published articles on ediscovery and PTAB practice.
