Shivangi has over 25 years of experience in the areas of information risk and networks with a special focus on data privacy for the last decade. Shivangi is Senior VP & General Manager – Digital Governance at Persistent Systems. Previously, she was the Co-founder & CEO of Arrka, a company that specialized in operationalizing data privacy in organizations. Arrka was acquired by Persistent in October 2024. Amongst the first few to get an IAPP certification from India back in 2011, Shivangi has been actively contributing to the data privacy domain in the country. She has authored the first textbook on data privacy in India for the DSCI and has been a faculty on over 200+ advanced privacy training programs. Arrka has worked with some of India’s largest banks and enterprises, helping them implement and manage their privacy programs. Arrka, amongst other things, publishes an annual ‘State of Privacy of Indian Mobile Apps & Websites’ report. With seven editions thus far, the report provides one of the few data points on the state of privacy in India. She is a regular speaker at conferences including international ones of the IAPP and authors a monthly ‘State of Privacy in India’ column for the IAPP’s Asia Pacific Newsletter.
