Hon. Deborah Boardman
Judge Boardman received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University. After college, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Amman, Jordan. She received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable James C. Cacheris of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Judge Boardman was a litigation associate at Hogan Lovells (formerly Hogan & Hartson) in Washington, D.C., for six years. She also served as the senior associate in Hogan’s pro bono department. In 2008, Judge Boardman joined the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Maryland. In 2015, she became the First Assistant Federal Public Defender. In September 2019, Judge Boardman was appointed as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Maryland. On July 1, 2021, Judge Boardman was sworn in as a U.S. District Judge for the District of Maryland. |
