David J. Kerstein is one of Validity’s co-founders and serves as its Managing Director and Senior Investment Officer. In addition to co-leading Validity’s origination, underwriting and structuring of investment opportunities, Dave helps to guide Validity’s strategic growth. As an early adopter of litigation finance and with nine years in the industry, Dave uses his depth of knowledge and experience to serve as a trusted and strategic partner and advisor to lawyers and clients seeking to manage litigation risk and spend. 
Dave and the Validity team invest in both individual cases and law firm case portfolios. Dave and the team efficiently evaluate case merits and structure deals that provide commercial clients and law firms the capital and strategic perspective they need to pursue worthy cases without financial constraints. Having spent fifteen years as a trial lawyer handling complex commercial disputes at Gibson Dunn, Dave understands the landscape attorneys and their clients face when pursuing important claims and helps them navigate it.
Dave earned his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. from the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania
