David Sanders has been a United States Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of Mississippi for the past thirteen years. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Sanders was an Assistant United States Attorney in Oxford, Mississippi. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law where he was the editor-in-chief of the Mississippi Law Journal and is a past editor-in-chief of the Federal Courts Law Review. Judge Sanders currently teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi School of Law, and he sits on the Education Advisory Committee for the Federal Judicial Center, a committee tasked with training new appointees on all topics relevant to magistrate judges. More importantly, Judge Sanders’ thirteen-year-old daughter is a serious contender to be the middle school girls’ state champion in cross-country this year.
