Lesley Weaver
Lesley represents public entities, consumers, and private businesses in antitrust, securities and consumer litigation, primarily class actions or opt out matters. She has been appointed to leadership positions in some of the country’s largest and most significant MDL class cases in recent years. She currently serves as co-lead counsel for plaintiffs in In re Facebook, Inc. Consumer Privacy User Profile Litigation MDL, the case challenging Facebook’s widespread practice of selling access to users’ content notwithstanding that users share it privately on the Facebook platform. In October 2014, she tried an internet privacy case against a Chinese-owned, California-based internet site, recovering 100 percent of economic damages and punitive damages jury verdict, and significant injunctive relief. Lesley holds degrees from Harvard College and the University of Virginia Law School. She has studied at the University of Bonn, and was a Rotary exchange student at Haderslev Katedralskole. |
