Russell Slifer
Russell is a principal at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner and CEO of Black Hills IP. He was appointed by President Obama as the Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In this role, he managed all day-to-day operations of the USPTO and served as a Judge for both the Patent and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Boards. Before his government service, Russell was the Chief Patent Counsel for Micron Technology, Inc. He served on the board of directors of IPO for 10 years, is a Past-President of the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel, and the current Chair of the Selection Board of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. |
