Hon. Joel Schneider
Judge Schneider was appointed to the position of U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey in October 2006. He was reappointed for a second eight-year term in October 2014. Prior to his initial appointment, and after graduating from Brooklyn College in 1977 and Villanova Law School in 1980, Judge Schneider was in private practice for 26 years where he specialized in complex civil litigation. He was appointed by the District of New Jersey’s Board of Judges in 2006 as the Compliance Judge for Arbitration. He is also a member of the District’s Local Patent Rules, Information Technology, Pro Bono, and Hurricane Sandy Litigation Committees. Judge Schneider is a past appointed member of the Committee on Federal-State Jurisdiction of the Judicial Conference of the United States. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey and the District of New Jersey’s Lawyer’s Advisory Committee. Judge Schneider has been an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers Law School-Camden since Spring 2009 and Rowan University since 2018. |
