Derek McNally is is senior attorney at a municipal law agency for a major US city. In this role, he oversees discovery from conventional and proprietary data sources from various municipal agencies. His responsibilities include data mapping and knowledge management. Derek began his legal career as a commercial litigation attorney at Salans Hertzfeld Heilbronn Christy & Viener LLP and then at Johnson Gallagher Magliery LLP, where he represented a wide variety of corporate clients including hedge funds, mortgage-backed security insurers, real estate trusts, restauranteurs, and art galleries, with a focus on eDiscovery. Before becoming a lawyer, Derek was a Production Editor at Random House and Columbia University Press. Derek participated in The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 Brainstorming Group on the Evolution of Documents and is a member of The Sedona Conference Drafting Committee for the upcoming Commentary on Discovery of Collaboration Platforms Data.
