Michelle Newcomer
Michelle is eDiscovery Counsel at Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP, where she concentrates her practice in the area of eDiscovery and provides counsel and training to litigation teams across the Firm on eDiscovery matters arising in its securities, consumer, and antitrust class actions, and other complex litigation. Michelle regularly leads discovery conferences and navigates complex issues regarding the preservation, search, and production of ESI, including negotiations over search methodologies and technology-assisted review protocols. Michelle also devises strategic workflows for effectively managing large-scale document reviews, including using advanced analytic tools, and briefs and argues eDiscovery motions where necessary. Prior to serving in this role, Michelle focused her practice in the area of securities litigation, where she represented individual and institutional investors and Sovereign Wealth Funds in class actions, direct actions, and non-U.S. collective actions asserting violations of U.S. and foreign securities laws. Michelle is an active member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1, where she co-leads the Drafting Team developing a paper on Practical Guidance for the Discovery of Mobile Device Data, and has served as a Faculty Advisory for Sedona’s E-Discovery Negotiation & Training workshop. Michelle also actively participates in The Complex Litigation eDiscovery Forum and is a member of Women in eDiscovery’s Philadelphia Chapter. |
