David is an Assistant Professor at the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina. David's research focuses on privacy issues arising from the interaction of law and novel technologies. Prior to joining academia, he served as the Chief Privacy Officer for the State of South Carolina. David holds several privacy certifications and regularly teaches CLEs on privacy topics.
