Georgianna Witt Braden was appointed as an Administrative Patent Judge in 2012 to preside over trial proceedings under the America Invents Act and to decide appeals arising from adverse decisions of Examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Judge Braden earned a Juris Doctorate from The University of Houston Law Center, a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Louis University. Judge Braden spent ten years in private practice at Howrey, LLP, which later merged with Winston & Strawn, LLP, where she litigated intellectual property cases and prosecuted patent applications.
